Hi,

We put out anewsletter about cigar box labels periodically. I am working on Issue 8 right now. While researching the old Chicago Post office, I happened upon your great picture of its dome. May I please use the picture for a story in my newsletter? Please let me know. I am looking at a November deadline.

Thank you,
Mury for InStone, Inc.

The post office is still there and it is remarkable. The interior is marble and quarter-sawn oak.

Wow, cool, thanks for posting this...it's fascinating seeing how much of the local Post Office is still there from the original structure! Do you by chance know what the year of this postcard is?

It's true that the roof has been dumbed down since then...that clocktower bit isn't there...but all the basic brick structure otherwise looks pretty much exactly the same! Very wild to see just a couple scattered houses around it instead of other buildings.

The old Minneapolis post office is long gone, but replaced with a stunning art deco office that still is in use. The Saint Paul Post Office is still standing, as beautiful as ever, however it no longer serves as a post office. It now houses a museum, some non profit offices and other community organizations.
