Fort Wayne, IN

I love this post office in Fort Wayne, Indiana, circa 1910. Notice the round spots up on the tower, ready for clock faces, whenever they arrive, or when the budget allows. In 1932, the U.S. Post Office moved its Fort Wayne presence out of this beauty and into a gray box built in a style referred to as “Starved Classicism.” That’s the nicest way I’ve ever heard that particular style described.
