Casa Grande, AZ

Casa Grande, Arizona, takes its name (which means “big house” in Spanish) not from this diminutive post office but from the nearby Casa Grande Ruins National Monument, where one finds a well-preserved group of structures constructed by the people of the Hohokam period, who farmed the area in the early 13th century.

  1. I grew up in the town of Casa Grande. I wanted to use the postcard image for a musical project and wanted to know who I would need to contact for permission. The image represents all that is the southwest.
