Celebrating “Postal Week” some time around 1965, artists from the South Humboldt Art Association painted U.S. postage stamps on the post office in Phillipsville, California. I never got to see this small office it’s really cute I’m a retired US Postmaster myself from the Ca Oakland district
I grew up with this Post Office, and I knew some of the women who painted the stamps on it( I was in high school when they painted it)…….It was always fun to go down the street to collect the mail and talk with the Postmistress Mrs. Ruth Beasley……
That little Post Office in Phillipsville has a lot of character and looks great. I wish it we had one like it in my town.
