Celebrating “Postal Week” some time around 1965, artists from the South Humboldt Art Association painted U.S. postage stamps on the post office in Phillipsville, California. This small post office in the redwood country was served by postmistress Ruth E. Beasley. Photos by Darrell Brown of Garberville.

  2. I grew up with this Post Office, and I knew some of the women who painted the stamps on it( I was in high school when they painted it)…….It was always fun to go down the street to collect the mail and talk with the Postmistress Mrs. Ruth Beasley……
